Introduction of creativity
Creativity can be defined in many different ways. Every person has their own ideas of what is meant by being creative which leads to many different interpretations.

ConsequencesDuring a lesson we was set a task in groups called consequences. As a group we had to come up with a sentence using different adverbs, nouns and verbs. The sentence that we came up with was "The beautiful Flower hopped the running pig". From this we had to create a picture that would reflect the sentence. I think that the picture does show creativity as we had to use our imagination to think of what different pictures would illustrate the different motions and objects. For example I did this by thinking of a flower that has a meaning of beauty and would represent the beautiful flower. We couldn't use any other previous art work as it was original to our group. Finally it does show creativity as we had to create ideas and produce them into art work.

Red Movie video

We was given the task set by our teacher to create a one minute long film which had to have the appearance of a pen somewhere in it. We had to make sure that we used different shot sizes and camera angles and there was no continuity errors as we wouldn't be editing the short film at all. I found this task really enjoyable as we were free to create whatever we wanted. We decided to create a film that would focus around a crayon life's and its troubles. We used voices to add dialogue and the sound was non-diegetic. I think that our short film we produced does show being creative as we came up with the idea independently without doing any research in short films previously. As we was given very small instructions on what the film had to be about meant that we was free to be as creative as we wanted, meaning we didn't have to follow and conventions of what you would normally expect to see in a short film

My own way of being creative
In class we was asked to come up with an idea to portray us being creative in our own personal way. I have decided to compose my own short piece of music. I have chosen to do this as i have played instruments since i was 5 and is something that i am passionate about.

The pictures above show me creating and composing my music as well as my final piece. I have chosen to write the music in a major scale as it will reflect a happier mood and will be nicer to listen to. I can up with the idea when thinking about films and the way they use music to reflect different moods and atmospheres. This lead to me to thinking about where i could imagine my piece of music being played during a film, i decided that it would best reflect a calm, relaxing atmosphere and reminds me of listen to the sound of running water in a water fountain or a open space. I think that this is showing being creative as i composed the music individually using my own knowledge on how to compose music, what notes work and sound well together and how to use cords to build up layers to the music. However when composting music it is very easy to compose music which you think sound originally but you may have taken some phrases from a rewritten song which would be copy write.

Defining creativity
Creativity is having the ability to create your won ideas and having the passion and commitment to be able to put them into real life situations. The most important view on being creative is making sure that your ideas are original and are not influenced by other and view things/ideas in a new way. Linda Niaman states that creativity is " The act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing." She also states that having the ideas in your head but doing nothing about them is having a good imagination but its the producing of the ideas that is being creative. However when looking at Wikipedia theory they state that creativity has to be appreciate. When we are looking at film making we have to follow conventions to produce the film to make it appropriate. This limits the range of how creative a producer can be if they have to follow the conventions.

For our course this year we need to have a good understanding of the definition skill. By having a understanding means that during the exam I will be able to express what skills I have learnt during the course.

There are many different definitions of the work skill however, from looking at many different sources and WebPages its clear that most think of skill as a way of problem solving when carrying out different tasks and having the ability to use your previously knowledge in the situation. However one of the definitions that stood out the most to me stated that a skill is learned compared to an ability that is innate. This says to me that it’s through our life experience that we are constantly building on our range of skills to use in different circumstances. In another definitions talks about how skill is having the ability to performer various types of cognitive and behavioural activities efficiently. I support this definitions supports other definitions I have found that states that skills are learned meaning, you have to be able to make the cognitive processes to develop and retain the skill.

These are some of the links i found that define skill

My own definition of skill
A skill is something that does not come naturally to us which means all skills that we have must be learnt. Skills can be learnt though training. By training we can get a better understand of what is asked of us and should hopefully become easier and require less thought and is less time consuming. When creating our own media productions the more knowledge and understanding I have of certain skills, the more I will learn and be able to complete work confidently.
